Edward vs. Cedric

Ok you can tell that I am bored when I decide to write a blog about two fictional characters and compare them. Well I am it's rainy here for like the 100th day in a row and I've cleaned the whole house, caught up on my Animal Crossings and have no emails to respond to. Plus I need a little something to do to side track me from the fact that New Kids tickets went on sale @ 9 am this morning and I have to wait till Monday to get mine... OK here's the intro. Cedric Digory and Eward Cullen were both played by actor Robert Pattinson (hottie), and both come from two very wonderful stories Harry Potter and Twilight. I'm going to try to just comapare the movie versions not the book versions.







1. Cedric Diggory-

Age: 17yrs. old


Powers: Wizard/magic


School: Hogwarts


Social status: Popular, well liked by others, cute


Girlfriend: Cho Chang


Hobbies: Quidditch -Seeker


Demeanor: Light, playful he always seemed to be smiling. I feel like he knew he was popular and good looking, but played the modesty card too.

Role in the story: He was chosen by the goblet to represent Hogwarts in the Tri-Wizard Tournament against two other school and Harry Potter. He also went to the Ball with Cho Chang who happen to be the girl Harry had a crush on. Cedric and Harry each helped the other at some point in the tournament, and in the end after a moment of rash competing they both agreed to share the cup and it's earnings. The cup (that was a port key intended for Harry), however, transported them to a graveyard where Voldemort was waiting. It was here where Cedric was killed by Voldemort.




2. Edward Cullen-

Age: 17yrs. old (has been "for awhile")

Powers: Can run faster than even the other Vampires and can read minds, well all but one.

School: Most recent on Forks High

Social status: Pre-Bella he and his family were loners who were mostly ignored, post-Bella it wasn't really brought up, but in the book (I know I said I wasn't going there but) he was tolerated by the other students because of Bella.


Girlfriend: Isabella (Bella) Swan

Hobbies: Wrote/played music, nice cars, playing vampire baseball, studying, etc... (Remember "Edward can do everything right" ).

Demeanor: He is the most complicated/emotional character to read; he hasn't really had to deal with some of the emotions/feelings that he deals with when Bella enters his life. Even at home he's still a loner in the a sense because the other have a significant other. He thought he knew everything when it come to the human mind, but is badly mistaken when it comes to Bella. He is sometimes depressing, because he thinks he knows what's best for Bella. He knows he looks appealing to humans but hates the fact (part of being a monster). When he starts dating Bella you see him lighten up and be playful.

Role in the story: Well he is the second main character (in a lot of girls' hearts he is the main character), he is a vampire who falls in love with a human. This relationship then puts Bella into many dangerous situations, causing Edward to rescue her or abandon her. Bella wants to become a vampire to be able to be with him forever, but he refuses taking away her human life and making her a monster.




Robert has done an awesome job portraying both characters in my opinion, I am curious to what roles he will take on in the future. Good luck to him and all the cast currently filming New Moon the second book in the Twilight Saga.
